Chase Corporation has acquired Hylomar Holdings Limited, expanding its engineered materials portfolio with specialized sealants and adhesives used across industrial, transportation, aerospace, power generation and electronics markets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hylomar brings more than 60 years of experience developing high-performance sealing and adhesive materials for demanding engineering applications. Its portfolio includes non-setting gasketing and jointing compounds, silicone sealants, anaerobic adhesives, structural adhesives and sealing putties.
The acquisition broadens Chase’s exposure to specialty sealing technologies while creating opportunities to expand Hylomar’s products through Chase’s global scale and customer relationships.
Hylomar already supplies products used by major original equipment manufacturers across transportation, aerospace, power generation and distribution, electronics, white goods and general engineering.
Its portfolio includes specialized formulations specified by aero-engine manufacturers including Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney.
Chase plans to build on Hylomar’s existing brand, differentiated technology and international presence to expand penetration in industrial, aerospace and transportation markets.
The addition is also complementary to Chase’s broader engineered materials business, which develops materials for high-reliability applications across industrial, infrastructure and electronics markets.
Hylomar employees will become eligible to participate in Chase’s broad-based ownership program, giving employees the opportunity to participate in equity ownership following the acquisition.
The transaction gives Chase another specialized materials platform with an established global customer base while increasing the range of protective and sealing solutions it can offer to existing customers.
