Chicago Atlantic announced the launch of a new Emerging Markets Private Credit strategy aimed at expanding its lending capabilities across high-growth regions, including Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The strategy will focus on senior secured loans, structured credit, and asset-backed financing solutions for strategically important and government-linked companies, targeting a persistent capital gap in emerging economies where borrowers seek flexible, non-dilutive financing options.
The initiative will be led by emerging markets veterans Peter Marber and Jim Garvey, and overseen by Scott Gordon, a partner at Chicago Atlantic with extensive experience across global financial institutions and investment firms. The broader team will include senior professionals such as Umesh Mahajan, Bill Healy, and Jack Flaherty, leveraging the firm’s global sourcing network and institutional relationships.
The strategy is designed to emphasize capital preservation, disciplined underwriting, and downside protection, with a focus on strong collateral structures and risk management. It also aims to provide institutional investors with exposure to emerging markets while addressing increasing demand for yield and diversification.
Chicago Atlantic, which has deployed more than $3.3 billion across over 185 private loan transactions, continues to expand its private credit platform as global market dynamics drive demand for alternative lending solutions.
