Childfree Insights is a central hub for education, research, and thought leadership for Childfree and Permanently Childless individuals. As the umbrella organization for Childfree Wealth and Childfree Trust, it connects people to specialized services designed for their unique needs. Childfree Wealth is a fiduciary, fee-only life and financial planning firm dedicated to helping Childfree and Permanently Childless individuals align their finances with their unique life goals, while Childfree Trust provides estate planning and professional fiduciary support to ensure their wishes are carried out. Together, the ecosystem provides the frameworks, guidance, and implementation needed to help people design their lives and legacies on their own terms. Pulse 2.0 interviewed founder Dr. Jay Zigmont to learn more.
Dr. Jay Zigmont’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Dr. Zigmont said:
“I’m Dr. Jay Zigmont, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and the founder of Childfree Insights, Childfree Trust, and Childfree Wealth. My wife and I are Childfree by choice, and that decision shaped nearly every aspect of our lives—especially our finances. Early in my career, I realized the financial industry didn’t have language, frameworks, or services for people like us. Everything assumed kids. That gap became my life’s work: creating research-backed planning models and, ultimately, an ecosystem to help Childfree and Permanently Childless adults design lives and legacies on their own terms.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for the company come together? Dr. Zigmont shared:
“It started with what I call the Standard LifeScript—the cultural and societal default that says you’ll get married, have kids, save for college, and pass on your wealth to the next generation. It is also known as the classical American Dream. For millions of people, that script doesn’t fit. I founded Childfree Wealth in 2021 to help people plan for life first, then money. Over time, it became clear that financial planning was only one piece of the puzzle, so we launched Childfree Trust—a fiduciary estate-planning solution. Together, they create what we call Life & Financial Stewardship for the Childfree community.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Dr. Zigmont reflected:
“It’s hearing from people who finally feel seen. When someone says, ‘I didn’t realize there was a word for what I am,’ or ‘I finally feel like I belong somewhere,’ that’s everything. We’re not just building tools—we’re helping people step off the default path and see that a Childfree life is a valid, intentional choice.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? Dr. Zigmont explained:
“Our ecosystem includes:
- Childfree Wealth – Life-first financial planning and investment management designed exclusively for Childfree individuals and couples.
- Childfree Trust – The first national service providing professional fiduciary support—medical and financial power of attorney, executor, and trustee—backed by 24/7 emergency response and a partner trust company.
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector recently (and how did you overcome them)? Dr. Zigmont acknowledged:
“The biggest challenge is awareness. Roughly one in four U.S. adults—more than 50 million people—are Childfree, yet traditional financial and legal systems are still built around family defaults. We call that gap the Fiduciary Void: when the system assumes biological next of kin that simply don’t exist. Our approach is to lead with education, naming the problem and providing real, fiduciary solutions through Childfree Trust.”
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Dr. Zigmont noted:
“We started with financial-planning tools and evolved into a full digital platform for estate and fiduciary management. Childfree Trust integrates document creation, secure data storage, and 24/7 emergency response—making estate planning simple, approachable, and accessible nationwide.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Dr. Zigmont cited:
- 2021: Launched Childfree Wealth, the first financial planning firm built exclusively for Childfree clients.
- 2025: Introduced Childfree Trust, creating an entirely new category—Life & Legacy Stewardship.
These milestones position us as both a service provider and a thought leader redefining how society views the Childfree population.”
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? Dr. Zigmont highlighted:
“A client once told me she’d avoided estate planning for years because she didn’t want to burden friends as executors. After learning about Childfree Trust, she said, ‘I can finally stop worrying about dying alone.’ That moment captured why we built this—peace of mind, delivered through professional next-of-kin services.”
Funding/Revenue
Are you able to discuss funding and/or revenue metrics? Dr. Zigmont revealed:
“We’re privately held, but I can share that our growth has been strong and sustainable. Our model is built on long-term relationships—each Childfree Trust client typically engages with us for over 20 years. That kind of lifetime partnership gives us both financial stability and the scale to keep innovating.”
Total Addressable Market (TAM)
What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Dr. Zigmont assessed:
“Our research estimates a $67-billion annual TAM in the U.S. for fiduciary and estate services tailored to Childfree adults, with a serviceable market of about $54 billion. And globally, this demographic is only growing—the Childfree economy is a major, overlooked force.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Dr. Zigmont affirmed:
“We’re the only comprehensive ecosystem dedicated solely to the Childfree experience. We provide a full continuum—from education, to planning, to protection. Everything is grounded in research, fiduciary ethics, and lived experience.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? Dr. Zigmont emphasized:
“We’re scaling Childfree Trust nationally, expanding partnerships with financial planners and aging-services networks. Long term, we want to normalize Childfree living as a celebrated life path—and ensure everyone without children has access to true fiduciary protection.”
Additional Thoughts
Any other topics you would like to discuss? Dr. Zigmont concluded:
“At the same time, we know this isn’t just a Childfree issue. Millions of Americans—especially solo agers, women, and LGBTQIA+ adults—face the same structural barriers around planning, caregiving, and having their wishes respected.”
“For solo agers, it often means navigating retirement and end-of-life planning without a built-in support system. For women, who statistically live longer and are more likely to outlive partners or remain single, it means facing decades of financial and care decisions on their own. And for LGBTQIA+ individuals, it’s about ensuring that chosen family—not default relatives or the state—has legal authority to act on their behalf.”
“The problem is that our financial, legal, and medical systems were built around a 1950s model of the nuclear family. Those assumptions leave too many people without a clear plan or advocate when they need it most.”
