ChipAgents, an AI platform redefining chip design and verification, announced the close of an oversubscribed $21 million Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $24 million. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with strategic investment from Micron, MediaTek, Ericsson, and several semiconductor companies. Additional participants include angels and industry veterans Wally Rhines, Raúl Camposano, and Jack Harding, along with continued backing from ScOp Venture Capital and Amino Capital.
The funding will support ChipAgents’ mission to accelerate semiconductor innovation by embedding AI at the core of chip design and verification. The company’s agentic AI platform aims to make complex hardware engineering processes faster, more intuitive, and significantly more productive. By utilizing AI to automate labor-intensive tasks, ChipAgents reduces design cycles and costs, allowing engineers to focus on innovation rather than repetitive manual verification.
Since its seed round, ChipAgents has seen exponential growth, including a 6,377% increase in monthly usage during the first half of 2025. The platform uses agentic AI to streamline RTL code generation, testbench creation, debugging, and verification through natural language-based commands.
Deployed at 50 leading semiconductor companies, ChipAgents reports 80% higher verification productivity compared to traditional industry practices and has achieved 50x year-over-year growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
The company also received investment from Micron Ventures, reflecting growing interest among semiconductor leaders in AI-driven design optimization. “ChipAgents’ mission to reinvent chip design through AI agents aligns closely with our focus, especially as chipmakers require faster, more intelligent design solutions to meet the accelerating demands of AI hardware,” said Henry Huang, Investment Director at Micron Ventures.
To strengthen its leadership and industry reach, ChipAgents formed a world-class advisory board featuring some of the most accomplished figures in semiconductor technology: Wally Rhines (former CEO of Mentor Graphics, now Siemens EDA), Raúl Camposano (former CTO of Synopsys), Jack Harding (former CEO of Cadence), and Erez Tsur (former CEO of Cadence Israel). They join Dr. John Bowers, founding advisor and distinguished photonics researcher.
ChipAgents plans to use the new funding to expand product development, scale customer acquisition, and deepen strategic partnerships within the semiconductor ecosystem. The company continues to push the boundaries of AI’s role in EDA by building a unified, agentic platform that integrates automation, data, and design intelligence for next-generation chip development.
KEY QUOTES:
“Electronic design automation (EDA) has powered decades of semiconductor progress, but today’s engineers still struggle with fragmented toolchains, steep costs, and workflows that haven’t kept pace with rapidly growing chip complexity. As designs scale, productivity gains have slowed and verification remains highly manual. Our vision is to change that. With ChipAgents, we’re introducing a unified agentic AI platform designed to automate routine tasks, accelerate design and verification, and enable AI-native workflows that help engineers focus on innovation rather than repetitive effort.”
Professor William Wang, Founder and CEO, ChipAgents
“ChipAgents has demonstrated itself as having the best product in the market that does AI-powered RTL design, debugging, and verification for chip developers. We’re impressed by Professor William Wang’s deep technical expertise and the exceptional team of AI and hardware design experts he’s assembled. ChipAgents’ agentic approach to AI chip design integrates seamlessly across the entire chip design workflow, bringing together disparate EDA tools from spec ingestion to waveform analysis, which we believe is the right way to tackle this complex, multi-step process.”
Lance Co Ting Keh, Venture Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners
“Micron Ventures supports bold AI companies led by visionary founders developing transformative technologies. ChipAgents’ mission to reinvent chip design through AI agents aligns closely with our focus, especially as chipmakers require faster, more intelligent design solutions to meet the accelerating demands of AI hardware. At this pivotal inflection point, ChipAgents presents a high-impact opportunity to invest in the future of semiconductor development.”
Henry Huang, Investment Director, Micron Ventures
“ChipAgents demonstrates the major impact that AI can have on the full range of integrated circuit design tasks. I’ve met with three major semiconductor companies that have done competitive assessments of AI-based design solutions, and ChipAgents is the number one choice at all three.”
Wally Rhines, Former CEO, Mentor Graphics (now Siemens EDA)
“ChipAgents is pioneering a new era in semiconductor design, where AI and engineering expertise converge for smarter solutions. The implications for the semiconductor industry are nothing short of transformative, and I’m excited to support their mission.”
Raúl Camposano, Former CTO, Synopsys
