Circus Acquires Alberts To Expand Autonomous Food Robotics Capabilities

By Amit Chowdhry ● Apr 20, 2026

Circus SE announced it has signed a binding agreement to acquire Alberts, a Belgium-based food robotics company known for its autonomous food production systems.

Founded in 2015, Alberts has developed patented robotic systems deployed across six countries, serving customers including Danone, Decathlon and Sodexo. The acquisition is expected to contribute to Circus’ revenue within the current financial year.

The deal strengthens Circus’ robotics portfolio by adding compact, autonomous food production systems with a footprint of approximately one square meter, enabling deployment in space-constrained environments. This complements Circus’ existing focus on larger-scale and mobile robotics applications, including defense-related use cases.

The transaction will be financed through the issuance of Circus shares, with the final number of shares tied to share price performance and the outcome of due diligence. A 30-month lock-up period will apply. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Alberts’ management team will remain with the company to support integration and long-term growth initiatives. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including due diligence, and is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
