Cirrus Logic has acquired INVENTVM Semiconductor, a fabless semiconductor company based in Pavia, Italy, specializing in mixed-signal power management and audio integrated circuits.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Cirrus Logic said the acquisition is not expected to materially impact its revenue.
The transaction adds INVENTVM’s engineering expertise and intellectual property to Cirrus Logic while strengthening the company’s presence in a region where it plans to expand further.
Cirrus Logic said the acquisition is intended to accelerate new product development and support its longer-term strategy of expanding into additional applications and markets.
The Austin, Texas-based company develops low-power, high-precision mixed-signal processing technologies used across mobile and consumer applications.
INVENTVM brings expertise specifically in mixed-signal power management and audio ICs, areas that complement Cirrus Logic’s existing technology portfolio.
The companies also have an established relationship. Cirrus Logic and INVENTVM have worked together for several years, giving Cirrus Logic familiarity with INVENTVM’s engineering organization and technology before completing the acquisition.
For Cirrus Logic, the transaction increases its engineering capacity and adds talent and intellectual property that can support its product pipeline as the company pursues opportunities beyond its existing markets.
INVENTVM is expected to become part of Cirrus Logic’s broader global engineering organization.
