Cision, a global provider of consumer and media intelligence solutions, has acquired Trajaan, an industry-leading search intelligence platform, to accelerate Cision’s artificial intelligence and data strategy. The acquisition deepens Cision’s ability to deliver predictive insights by combining search behavior, conversational intelligence, and generative AI analytics across its product ecosystem.
The transaction builds on the strategic partnership announced in August 2025 between Brandwatch, a Cision company, and Trajaan. By fully integrating Trajaan’s technology, Cision aims to offer customers a unified view of consumer behavior that spans what people search for, what they say online, and what actions they are likely to take next. The combined capabilities are expected to help marketing, communications, and insights teams move beyond descriptive analysis toward more forward-looking intelligence.
Trajaan’s platform captures always-on, geo-localized search data across traditional search engines, e-commerce platforms, social channels, and emerging generative AI assistants. This technology will be integrated across Cision’s portfolio, including Brandwatch, CisionOne, PR Newswire, and Cision’s Insights Services. As a result, customers will gain enhanced visibility into consumer intent, trend formation, and category shifts at earlier stages than previously possible.
A central focus of the acquisition is the growing influence of generative AI on discovery and purchasing decisions. Trajaan provides insight into how AI platforms interpret, summarize, and recommend products, categories, and competitors, giving brands a clearer understanding of how they are represented within AI-driven environments. This capability is increasingly important as consumers rely more heavily on AI assistants to inform buying decisions.
Cision views the acquisition as a major milestone in its AI product roadmap, strengthening its end-to-end insights offering across owned platforms. The expanded capabilities are designed to help organizations validate trends, forecast demand, identify brand risk earlier, and act with greater confidence in fast-moving markets.
For Trajaan, joining Cision provides an opportunity to scale its technology globally and extend its vision through integration with established consumer and media intelligence platforms. Together, the companies plan to help brands understand emerging demand signals well before trends reach the mainstream.
KEY QUOTES:
“Acquiring Trajaan is a natural extension of the partnership Brandwatch announced earlier this year. By bringing Trajaan fully into the Cision ecosystem, we’re unifying search intelligence, conversational insight, and AI-driven analytics to give customers a deeper, more predictive understanding of the ‘why’ behind consumer behavior — from the questions they ask to the signals that shape demand.”
Guy Abramo, Chief Executive Officer at Cision
“Joining Cision allows us to scale our technology and vision globally. Together we can help brands understand what people search for, what they talk about, and how GenAI platforms shape their decisions — long before trends hit the mainstream.”
