Anand Govind, chief financial officer of enterprise planning software company o9 Solutions, is joining Citigroup as a managing director in technology investment banking, focusing on enterprise software and artificial intelligence, according to a LinkedIn post and an internal memo reviewed by Bloomberg News.

Govind said he will be based in San Francisco and will work with senior Citi dealmakers, including Pankaj Goel, Mark Keene, and Drago Rajkovic, as part of the bank’s technology investment banking effort. “I’m looking forward to advising innovative technology companies at a time when AI and software are reshaping every industry,” he wrote.

Govind is expected to start later this month and will report to Goel and Keene, citing the memo. Govind is joining Citi from o9 Solutions, where he has served as CFO. At o9, Govind has held senior finance leadership roles, including being promoted to CFO in 2020.

Govind’s hire comes as Citi continues to add senior talent across investment banking and deal advisory. Last year, Reuters reported Citi hired veteran banker Pankaj Goel from JPMorgan to co-lead its technology investment banking division alongside Mark Keene, as part of a broader push to bolster the franchise.

Citi has also recruited senior M&A leadership, including naming Drago Rajkovic co-head of mergers and acquisitions after bringing him over from JPMorgan, Reuters reported.
