Citi Private Bank Appoints Former Bank Of America Executive Samuel Gottesman As Northeast Market Executive

Citi Private Bank has appointed Samuel Gottesman as Market Executive for the Northeast, expanding its senior leadership team as it strengthens its relationships with ultra-high-net-worth clients across several major U.S. wealth management markets.

Gottesman is expected to begin his new role in November 2026.

He joins Citi from Bank of America Private Bank, where he served as Managing Director and Market Executive.

In that position, Gottesman led financial advisors across four offices in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

At Citi, he will oversee client relationships and advisory teams in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey, Greenwich, and Boston.

The appointment gives Citi an executive with more than three decades of financial services experience, particularly in serving clients with sophisticated wealth management requirements.

Gottesman’s experience spans investment management, trust and estate planning, credit and lending, and philanthropic services.

These capabilities align with the needs of ultra-high-net-worth families and individuals whose financial affairs may involve multiple investment portfolios, business interests, estate planning considerations, and charitable activities.

In his new role, he will lead Citi Private Bank’s advisory teams across the Northeast while supporting the firm’s relationships with existing and prospective clients.

The position’s geographic scope includes several established private banking markets, bringing together teams serving clients in major financial and commercial centers.

The appointment is part of Citi Private Bank’s efforts to recruit experienced leadership as it develops its North American business.

Biotti announced the move as part of the firm’s continued recruitment of senior industry talent.

Gottesman’s background at Bank of America Private Bank provides experience overseeing teams in competitive wealth management markets and coordinating financial services for clients with complex requirements.

His responsibilities at Citi will include supporting the regional advisory organization as it provides investment, financing, and wealth planning services.

The announcement did not disclose the amount of client assets associated with Gottesman’s previous responsibilities or indicate that any specific client assets would transfer to Citi.
