Citrin Cooperman Acquires LGA To Grow New England Accounting And Advisory Platform

Citrin Cooperman Advisors has acquired substantially all the assets of LGA, LLP, a Boston‑area accounting and business advisory firm, in a move that significantly expands its New England footprint. The deal adds roughly 150 professionals to Citrin Cooperman and deepens its capabilities for private, middle‑market businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals in the region.

Under Managing Partner John Geraci, LGA built a reputation for an advisory‑led approach, long‑standing client relationships, and a focus on lower middle‑market and SMB clients. Both firms emphasize investment in people, strong culture, and the use of modern, increasingly AI‑enabled tools—framing the combination as a culturally aligned step toward more innovative, technology‑forward client service.

Operating within an alternative practice structure, the transaction splits assets between Citrin Cooperman entities: Citrin Cooperman Advisors LLC is acquiring LGA’s non‑attest assets, while Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP will acquire LGA’s attest assets. LGA’s leadership sees the deal as a way to preserve the firm’s “people first” culture while giving staff broader opportunities, more support, and access to larger‑scale investments in innovation and AI.

KEY QUOTES:

“LGA has built an outstanding firm, and from our first conversations it was clear that John and his team share our belief that great firms succeed by investing in their people, embracing innovation, and earning clients’ trust every day. That shared mindset, combined with LGA’s exceptional reputation, makes this a natural fit. We’re excited to welcome the LGA team as we continue growing our presence across New England.”

Alan Badey, CEO, Citrin Cooperman Advisors LLC

“By joining Citrin Cooperman, we can preserve what makes LGA special while giving our team broader opportunities, additional support, and access to continued investments in innovation and AI-enabled capabilities.”
