ClariMed, a leader in human-centered medical device development and regulatory services, has announced the acquisition of We Are Human, a consultancy operating across the UK and US with expertise in user-focused design, human factors research, and medical technology innovation.

This strategic move not only expands ClariMed’s operations into the Southeast United States through We Are Human’s modern Atlanta research facility but also strengthens the company’s commitment to advancing accessible, innovative, and human-centered medical technologies.

The acquisition represents a significant growth for ClariMed, broadening its geographic reach and bringing the entire We Are Human team, including founder Annmarie Nicolson, into the fold.

Annmarie will join ClariMed as Principal, sharing her extensive experience in formative research, contextual inquiry, and UX research to support medical technology development. The Atlanta facility will now serve as ClariMed’s newest hub, offering access to diverse study populations and supporting the company’s expanding client base in the region.

We Are Human brings to ClariMed not only ISO 13485 certification but also deep expertise in usability engineering standards such as IEC-62366 and FDA Guidance.

The firm has a proven track record of conducting research with hundreds of healthcare professionals, laypersons, and varied patient groups, ensuring that medical device development is finely tuned to human needs and contexts. By integrating these capabilities, ClariMed positions itself as a stronger partner for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers requiring user-centered research, regulatory support, and thorough design validation.

With locations now in Chadds Ford, PA; Cambridge, MA; San Jose, CA; Cambridge, UK; Leeds, UK; and Atlanta, GA, ClariMed’s expanded network allows the company to serve a global client base while leveraging regional diversity for usability studies and talent acquisition. This enhanced infrastructure and expertise will speed up the development process for clients, enabling quicker time to market and greater assurance of patient safety and user experience.

This acquisition clearly reflects ClariMed’s strategic growth, rooted in its dedication to delivering comprehensive, human-centered solutions for medical device development.

Through the combined strengths of both organizations, ClariMed is now even better equipped to support the creation of intuitive, safe, and impactful medical technologies, benefiting device manufacturers, healthcare providers, and the patients who depend on innovative products daily.
