Clearlake Capital announced the closing of its eighth flagship fund, Clearlake Capital Partners VIII, along with related co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts, bringing total capital commitments to $14.8 billion.

The fundraising was supported by nearly 300 new and existing investors spanning 35 countries across six continents. The new capital will enable Clearlake to continue investing in sectors benefiting from secular trends such as artificial intelligence, software modernization, digital transformation, and operational efficiency.

Founded in 2006, Clearlake manages more than $185 billion in assets across private equity, credit, infrastructure, secondaries, co-investments, and related private market strategies. The firm said Fund VIII reflects continued confidence in its sector-focused investment approach, integrated platform, and operational value-creation model.

Fund VIII has already begun deploying capital into investments aligned with Clearlake’s AI and technology themes. Recent investments include Dun & Bradstreet, Qualus, and ModMed. Through Clearlake AI Labs and external AI partnerships, the firm works with portfolio companies to implement AI initiatives across operations, product development, customer engagement, and decision-making.

The firm also highlighted approximately $22 billion in realizations over the past five years from investments including Concert Golf Partners, Brightly, Janus International Group, and Team Technologies.

Evercore Private Funds Group served as the primary fundraising advisor and global placement agent for Fund VIII, while Kirkland & Ellis acted as legal adviser.
