Clifford Chance announced it has named a few new partners, including Arnaud Fromion, Frédéric Guilloux, and Philipp Girardet.

Two New Partners In Paris

Clifford Chance announced the arrival of two partners, Arnaud Fromion and Frédéric Guilloux, to its Global Financial Markets team. And they will be based in the Paris office, further enhancing the firm’s capabilities in this major European market.

Arnaud Fromion brings extensive experience in leveraged, acquisition, corporate and fund finance. He has represented banks, debt funds, financial sponsors, and corporate borrowers in various financing transactions and restructurings.

Frédéric Guilloux specializes in leveraged, acquisition, corporate finance, and restructuring. His practice focuses on advising private equity sponsors, private debt funds, and bank syndicates on complex leveraged financings.

The addition of Arnaud Fromion and Frédéric Guilloux highlights Clifford Chance’s commitment to providing top-tier legal services in the financial services sector. And their expertise will be instrumental in driving business development and client acquisition, particularly in leveraged finance, restructuring, and private credit.

Philipp Girardet Named As Partner

Philipp Girardet will join the firm as a partner in its Global Antitrust Group based in London. Philipp joins from Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

He brings deep expertise in EU and UK competition law, including in relation to complex, cross-border merger control, FDI and antitrust/cartel defence cases and market investigations, and compliance advice/behavioral matters. And his expertise also extends to digital regulation issues, competition litigation and strategic consumer law cases.

The Global Antitrust Group’s notable recent hires include partner Michael Grenfell (former Executive Director of Enforcement at the CMA, who joined in August). Recent client mandates include successfully representing Spotify in the European Commission’s antitrust investigation against Apple for app store abuses. The team also advised Cisco on its $28 billion acquisition of Splunk and Arçelik on the CMA’s Phase 2 clearance of the formation of its new standalone home appliance business, further demonstrating the firm’s strategic focus in navigating complex antitrust matters.
