Global law firm Clifford Chance has expanded its International Construction Group by launching a dedicated transactional Construction team in Australia, led by newly appointed Counsel Katie Joukadjian.

The team will support the procurement of major projects across Australia and Asia Pacific. Katie joins from Pinsent Masons, bringing experience advising developers, sponsors, lenders, investors, and contractors on high-profile projects worldwide, and previously worked with Clifford Chance in Abu Dhabi. Her expertise in energy, digital tech, water, waste, mining, oil and gas, and real estate strengthens the firm’s sector offerings.

The team will also enhance the firm’s real estate practice, led by Partner Philip Podzebenko, which recently advised Scape on its AU$3.85 billion acquisition of Aveo Group, Australia’s largest real estate deal.

This launch is part of Clifford Chance’s growth in Australia, following recent appointments of Brad Woodhouse as Partner and Head of Class Actions, and the re-establishment of the M&A practice in Perth, led by Liz Humphry and Brett Cohen.
