Clifford Chance Promotes 12 New Counsel Across Asia Pacific Offices

Global law firm Clifford Chance announced the promotion of 12 new counsel across its Asia Pacific offices. The promotions span the firm’s offices in Sydney, Beijing, Perth, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore, reflecting continued investment in regional legal capabilities and client support operations.

The newly promoted counsel include Julian Brun and Adriano Poncini in Sydney; Yuanyuan Cai and Jane Chen in Beijing; Jamie Calvy in Perth; Joy Chen and Mercia Wang in Shanghai; Jonathon Leung, Winnie Poon, and Carson Wong in Hong Kong; Tomohiro Terada in Tokyo; and James Thornton in Singapore.

In addition, Shanghai He Ping Law Firm promoted Xiang Li to counsel. Clifford Chance and Shanghai He Ping Law Firm operate a Joint Operation Office in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone following approval from the Shanghai Bureau of Justice.

The firm said the promotions reflect the contributions made by the lawyers to clients, colleagues, and the broader regional business.
