Climatic emerged from stealth with $10 million in seed funding to pioneer the daily lung health category and bring proactive respiratory care into everyday wellness. The company is positioning lung care as a consistent part of daily health and performance, arguing that respiratory support has historically been treated as something people address only reactively during illness or environmental crises.
The seed round was led by Lerer Hippeau, with additional participation from BBGV, Brand Foundry, Cade Ventures, Good Friends, and Space Station. Climatic said the funding will be used to advance scientific research, expand its team, and support the launch of L Max, which it described as a first-of-its-kind daily lung health system expected to debut in late spring 2026.
Climatic is co-founded by CEO Eric Kau, who previously scaled Seed Health as COO and held roles at Chewy and Amazon, and Chief Commercial Officer Allie Melnick, a former Brand GM and CEO within Harry’s Inc. The company said its approach is grounded in more than three years of research led by Chief Science Officer Dr. Dale Christensen, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, including collaboration with Dr. Juan Sabater at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida.
Climatic highlighted new in vivo research using a model of impaired mucociliary clearance, which it characterized as the body’s primary mechanism for removing mucus and contaminants from the lungs and one that can be disrupted by pollution, wildfire smoke, cigarette or vape aerosols, and other stressors. In that model, the company reported that a single administration of its daily L Max formulation improved mucus clearance by more than 50%, with effects observed within minutes and sustained throughout an eight-hour observation period. The findings have been replicated in more than ten independent tests and are being prepared for peer-reviewed publication.
The company also cited multiple user studies, including a five-week trial with endurance athletes, reporting that 98% of participants experienced easier breathing during workouts, with an average 6% improvement in time trials, and that 80% saw improvements in heart rate variability within two weeks. Climatic said a larger placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized clinical study is underway.
Climatic said it has assembled a coalition of advisors and collaborators spanning respiratory science, elite performance, consumer health, and wellness, including Dr. Bruce Johnson of Mayo Clinic, Ironman champions Tim O’Donnell and Matt Hanson, and consumer category builders with experience at brands including Harry’s, Warby Parker, Seed, and AG1. The company said its longer-term roadmap includes additional products focused on environmental health and expanding how people care for their bodies amid evolving conditions.
KEY QUOTES
“For far too long, lung health has been a reactive category. Environmental exposure is a challenging reality we all face, and people need simple tools that provide daily support. Climatic leverages respiratory research and clinical science to give consumers a way to support their lungs proactively instead of only reacting when something goes wrong.”
Eric Kau, Co-founder and CEO, Climatic
“Wellness culture has taught us to hydrate, moisturize, supplement, recover, and optimize, but we still overlook the organ that powers whole body health through oxygenation. In ten years, taking care of your lungs will be as routine as brushing your teeth. Climatic exists to power that shift by creating trusted products that fit naturally into people’s daily lives.”
Allie Melnick, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Climatic
