CloudSEK Lands Strategic Investment From Connecticut Innovations in $10 Million Series B2 And Plans U.S. Hub

CloudSEK, an AI-driven predictive cyber threat intelligence company, said it has secured a strategic investment from Connecticut Innovations (CI) as part of its $10 million Series B2 financing, marking what the company described as the first time a U.S. state-backed venture fund has invested in an Indian-origin cybersecurity firm.

The B2 tranche concludes CloudSEK’s broader Series B round, following a previously announced $19 million Series B1 raise. CloudSEK said the B2 financing includes a mix of primary and secondary capital.

The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate its U.S. expansion and establish a regional hub in Connecticut focused on operations, hiring, and partnerships. CloudSEK said it intends to recruit cybersecurity and AI talent locally, build collaborations with universities and research institutions, and drive region-specific cybersecurity research and innovation.

Founded in 2015 by cybersecurity researcher-turned-entrepreneur Rahul Sasi, CloudSEK has grown from a research-led initiative into a threat intelligence platform serving more than 300 enterprises across banking and financial services, healthcare, technology, and government, according to the company.

CloudSEK said its relationship with CI grew out of VentureClash, CI’s global pitch competition, where CloudSEK was recognized as a top startup. The company cited participation at the event from business and government leaders, including Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, as part of the state’s broader effort to attract emerging technology companies.

CloudSEK’s investor base includes strategic and venture backers from its earlier Series B1, led by Commvault, alongside MassMutual Ventures, Inflexor Ventures, Prana Ventures, and Tenacity Ventures. The company also said early investors—including Meeran Family (Eastern Group), StartupXSeed, Neon Fund, and Exfinity Ventures—remain supportive. Separately, CloudSEK recently announced a partnership with Seed Group in the UAE to expand delivery of its predictive cyber intelligence and AI attack-detection capabilities in the region.

CloudSEK positions its platform as a cloud-native SaaS that continuously maps organizations’ external digital footprints, correlates early signals of risk, and identifies emerging attack paths—aiming to help teams detect and anticipate AI-enabled attack chains earlier in the lifecycle.
