Coastal Joins Tata Consultancy Services To Expand Salesforce-Led Transformation Work Globally

Coastal, a Salesforce, data and AI consultancy formerly known as Coastal Cloud, announced it has been acquired by Tata Consultancy Services, a global IT services and digital transformation provider with operations spanning 46 countries.

The deal brings Coastal into TCS’s global platform while keeping the consultancy’s brand intact, according to the companies. Coastal said it will continue operating as Coastal under TCS, aiming to scale Salesforce- and data-led transformation programs for customers while preserving its culture and customer-first operating model.

Founded in 2012, Coastal has built a North America-focused Salesforce practice with more than 600 professionals and a large certification base across Salesforce and adjacent data platforms. The firm said its team holds 3,091 certifications, including 442 across Agentforce, AI and Snowflake, and includes representatives on six Salesforce Partner Advisory Boards. Coastal also cited a five-star customer satisfaction rating on Salesforce AppExchange, alongside more than 450 reviews, and said it has served more than 1,700 customers.

TCS said the acquisition strengthens its Salesforce capabilities and supports its broader push to embed AI across enterprise transformation engagements. Coastal’s industry accelerators and multicloud Salesforce delivery model are expected to complement TCS’s enterprise systems integration, AI capabilities and intellectual property portfolio, giving clients what the companies described as a more unified partner for strategy, data modernization and execution.

The transaction comes as enterprises accelerate adoption of AI-enabled workflows and agent-based tools inside core customer and employee platforms, increasing demand for services firms that can integrate data foundations with business process redesign and scalable implementation. Coastal said it is seeing that shift directly as organizations move from experimentation toward broader deployments of agents and AI within the Salesforce ecosystem.

TCS, part of the Tata Group, reported consolidated revenue of more than $30 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025. The company said it employs a global workforce across 55 countries and operates 202 service delivery centers worldwide.
