Coda Buying European Payments Platform Recharge

Coda, a leader in digital content monetization based in Singapore, has signed an agreement to acquire Recharge, Europe’s top prepaid payments platform in Amsterdam. This deal combines two profitable leaders with complementary strengths and a shared vision for the future of global digital distribution and monetization.

The acquisition enables Coda to expand beyond gaming and enhances its ability to serve diverse digital content markets, particularly in Europe. For Recharge, the deal provides essential B2B expertise and broader access to partnerships with leading digital content publishers. By 2024, the combined business is expected to process over US$1.75 billion in sales, reaching more than 200 million customers across 180 markets.

Coda partners with top mobile gaming companies, distributing over 500 titles and managing web stores for major franchises. With a vast network of local payment channels, Coda offers consumers valuable options while simplifying global growth for publishers. Recharge strengthens Coda’s B2C presence in Europe, offering over 16,000 products and a user base of more than 8 million, trusted by brands such as Apple and PlayStation.

Together, Coda and Recharge will create significant opportunities for cross-selling and deeper market access, enhancing their capacity to serve the entire digital content economy.
