Boston-based Code Metal, a company focused on verifiable code translation for mission-critical industries, has closed a $125 million Series B financing round led by Salesforce Ventures. Additional participants in the round include Accel, B Capital, Smith Point Capital, J2 Ventures, Shield Capital, Overmatch, RTX, and others. The company also announced that Ryan Aytay, former CEO of Tableau, has joined as President and Chief Operating Officer.
The Series B follows closely on the heels of Code Metal’s Series A, highlighting the company’s rapid expansion and growing demand for verifiable AI capabilities in defense and other regulated sectors. The company said its technology is already deployed across defense, automotive, semiconductor, and other mission-critical industries, positioning it among the fastest-growing defense technology companies based on revenue growth, contract scale, and adoption among government and enterprise customers.
Code Metal plans to use the new capital to expand engineering capacity, accelerate product development, broaden commercial and government partnerships, and scale its go-to-market operations. Customers including Toshiba, RTX, L3Harris, and the U.S. Air Force rely on Code Metal’s platform to translate code between programming languages and optimize software for hardware at increased speed while maintaining verification and validation standards.
The company argues that while AI-generated code has advanced rapidly, mission-critical industries require more than speed. Compliance, safety, accuracy, and performance remain essential. Code Metal’s approach centers on enabling customers to translate and optimize code for different environments while ensuring that the resulting software is verified, validated, and production-ready.
Aytay brings decades of enterprise technology leadership experience. In addition to serving as CEO of Tableau, he held senior leadership roles at Salesforce, contributing to the growth and operations of one of the largest enterprise software companies globally. In his new role, he will focus on scaling operations, commercial execution, and partnerships, particularly across defense, automotive, and other regulated industries, working closely with founder and CEO Peter Morales and the broader leadership team.
KEY QUOTES
“AI code generation has hit an inflection point: mission-critical industries cannot deploy what they cannot verify,” “Code Metal’s neuro-symbolic approach solves this by mathematically proving code is correct. The unprecedented adoption velocity drove our decision to lead the round; in just one year, demand has pulled Code Metal into programs of record across the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, and more. Salesforce Ventures brings deep experience scaling enterprise platforms, and we are proud to back the team building the load-bearing infrastructure for this ecosystem.”
Rob Keith, Partner at Salesforce Ventures
“This new funding round marks an important milestone for Code Metal and validates our mission to close the trust gap in AI-generated code,” “AI can generate code at unprecedented speed, but in mission-critical environments, speed without proof is not enough; we are building the infrastructure that ensures software can be trusted before deployment, and with Salesforce Ventures’ partnership and Ryan’s firsthand expertise with these customers, we are scaling with the operational excellence this market demands.”
Peter Morales, Founder and CEO of Code Metal
“AI has transformed how software is written, but code portability and translation remain challenging,” “We’ve been impressed by Code Metal’s strong traction, particularly in helping defense customers develop and deploy on edge devices in safety-critical settings, and we’re excited to back this excellent team as they scale.”
Yan-David Erlich, General Partner at B Capital
