Code19 Autonomy Secures Colorado ONE Fund Investment To Scale Maveric AI For Defense Applications

Code19 Autonomy has received a seed investment from Colorado ONE Fund to accelerate development and deployment of Maveric AI, its high-dynamic autonomy software for defense applications.

The veteran-founded company is developing autonomy technology for systems that must operate at high speed and adapt continuously to rapidly changing conditions. Rather than building software around a single vehicle, Code19 designed Maveric AI to integrate with third-party vehicles, sensors, and command-and-control systems.

The platform is intended to help autonomous systems make better use of their speed, agility, and maneuverability in contested environments.

Code19’s first major defense application is intercept autonomy. The company is developing Maveric AI as a software payload for aircraft that must pursue and intercept maneuvering airborne threats while continuously adjusting to changes in target speed, direction, and behavior.

Code19 also offers Maveric Interceptor, a complete interceptor system powered by Maveric AI.

The company believes its technology can help address the cost imbalance in counter-unmanned aircraft missions, where expensive defensive systems may be used to engage significantly lower-cost threats. By bringing autonomous control to lower-cost platforms, Code19 is seeking to enable more scalable interception capabilities.

Beyond intercept missions, Code19 is developing sense-and-evade technology that applies its high-dynamic autonomy platform to one-way attack and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft. These systems are intended to help aircraft evade interceptors and continue their missions.

The company has already established several government relationships. Maveric AI has been designated “Award Ready” through the U.S. Army’s DevX Autonomy program. Code19 is also a finalist in the Department of War’s Low-Cost Interceptor Challenge, is prototyping under OUSW (R&E), and has a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane.

Code19 traces part of its technical approach to autonomous racing, where teams must test and iterate quickly under demanding operating conditions.

Colorado ONE Fund, a venture arm of ONE Funds, invests in early-stage dual-use technologies supporting national defense. The investment will fund continued development and scaling of Maveric AI as Code19 broadens its defense applications and government partnerships.

KEY QUOTES:

“Code19 is solving a class of autonomy problem that becomes increasingly important as systems get faster, more maneuverable, and more contested. The team has paired a distinctive technical foundation with meaningful early government traction, and we see significant potential for that capability across defense applications.”

Kevin O’Neil, CEO Of ONE Funds

“Our mantra is simple: the hardest problems get solved when failure is public and unforgiving. That means physical testing, rapid iteration, and proving performance under real-world conditions. We bring urgency and discipline to that process because warfighters need capabilities they can count on to accomplish the mission.”
