COFRA Holding AG announced it has appointed Jens Brenninkmeyer as chief executive officer of Bregal Investments, with the leadership change set to take effect Feb. 1, 2026. The company said the appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Brenninkmeyer joined Bregal Investments in 2023 and has served as chief strategy officer, where he led a review of the firm’s platform strategy while also overseeing new deal activity and portfolio management spanning six investment strategies, according to COFRA.

Prior to joining Bregal, Brenninkmeyer began his investing career at Goldman Sachs and later led the fintech investing strategy at Sixth Street, COFRA said. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University.

Bregal is the private equity investment business within COFRA’s portfolio. COFRA, headquartered in Switzerland, said it operates across Europe, the Americas, and Asia and maintains investment businesses that include private equity through Bregal Investments, real estate through Redevco, and asset management through Anthos Fund & Asset Management, alongside interests in retail, clean energy, and sustainable food.

COFRA described Bregal as a global investment platform that supports private markets teams across the manager life cycle, including incubation and seeding, primaries, co-investments, and secondaries. The firm said Bregal manages more than €19 billion in assets across direct and external manager-focused strategies and employs more than 300 professionals across nine offices, with headquarters in London and New York.
