Cogency Global, a provider of corporate compliance and transactional legal support services, has acquired UK-based company secretarial and governance firm Elemental CoSec to strengthen its presence in the United Kingdom and expand the range of services available to clients.
The acquisition enhances Cogency Global’s UK platform by adding specialized expertise in company secretarial services, corporate governance, UK incorporation, identity verification, directorship services, tax, and accountancy support. The combined capabilities are intended to support clients throughout the entire company lifecycle.
Elemental CoSec, which is recognized as a Chambers Band 1-rated firm in the UK for company secretarial services, will continue operating under its existing brand as a Cogency Global company. The integration between the two firms will occur in phases, with both organizations emphasizing continuity for clients and the preservation of trusted relationships.
Cogency Global is backed by private equity firm Bertram Capital, which supports the company’s strategy to expand its international footprint and strengthen its corporate services platform. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Headquartered in New York, Cogency Global provides registered agent services, transactional support, and corporate compliance solutions for law firms, lenders, and multinational corporations across the United States and globally. The company operates offices across the U.S. as well as in London, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Elemental CoSec was founded to provide high-quality corporate services with a more specialized and relationship-driven approach than large professional services firms. The company offers governance, company secretarial, accounting, and tax advisory services to clients in the UK. In 2026, Elemental was recognized in the Financial Times 1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies.
