Cognitive Credit: $40 Million Growth Investment To Expand AI-Powered Credit Analytics

Cognitive Credit, a provider of corporate credit data, analytics, and artificial intelligence technology, has secured a $40 million strategic growth investment led by Summit Partners, with continued participation from existing investor ETFS Capital.

The funding will support the company’s international expansion, accelerate product development, and strengthen its position as a technology provider for institutional credit investors, including asset managers, hedge funds, and investment banks.

Founded by CEO Robert Slater, Cognitive Credit develops specialized data and AI-powered tools designed to help credit analysts evaluate corporate issuers, monitor financial performance, and conduct fundamental research more efficiently.

The company’s technology addresses the complexity of corporate credit markets, where essential financial information is often distributed across numerous regulatory filings, financial statements, investor presentations, and privately shared documents.

According to the OECD’s Global Debt Report 2026, nearly $60 trillion in corporate bonds and syndicated loans are outstanding globally, with approximately $14 trillion raised during 2025.

As corporate debt markets expand, investors increasingly require specialized tools capable of extracting, organizing, and analyzing financial information from different sources while maintaining accuracy and traceability.

Cognitive Credit’s platform combines verified financial data, advanced analytics, and generative AI capabilities within an integrated research environment.

Its proprietary data infrastructure has been developed through the analysis of hundreds of thousands of financial reports and provides coverage of more than 3,500 corporate bond and loan issuers across the United States, Europe, and emerging markets.

The company’s tools allow analysts to access detailed credit models, primary financial reporting documents, and AI-assisted research outputs that can be traced to their original sources.

Cognitive Credit also distributes its data through a REST API, an Excel add-in, and a native Claude connector, allowing financial institutions to incorporate its information into their existing analytical workflows.

The company reported that its technology supports analytical operations at more than 80% of the world’s 25 largest asset managers by assets under management and all 10 leading global debt league table investment banks.

Over the past three years, Cognitive Credit has increased its active user base by 240% while more than doubling its global bond and loan issuer coverage.

The new capital will support continued expansion in the United States and the introduction of additional AI-powered products.

Among its upcoming offerings is DealConnect, a platform designed to provide on-demand access to detailed credit models for private corporate issuers that distribute financial information through secure data rooms.

The company is also developing agentic credit analysis capabilities that use AI to automate portions of fundamental research while relying on Cognitive Credit’s verified data infrastructure.

These initiatives are intended to help analysts increase their coverage of corporate issuers, identify relevant financial developments, and streamline research activities without sacrificing data transparency.

As part of the investment, Chris Bon, a partner at Summit Partners, has joined Cognitive Credit’s board of directors.

Summit Partners is a global growth equity firm that has invested in more than 550 companies since its founding in 1984, with a focus on technology, healthcare, and other growth industries.

Cognitive Credit expects the partnership to support its next phase of international growth as financial institutions increasingly adopt specialized AI and data solutions for credit investment decisions.
