Cognizant and Gulf Edge have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and support Thailand’s development as a regional AI economy.
The partnership will combine Gulf Edge’s digital infrastructure, energy, cloud and local-market capabilities with Cognizant’s experience in AI engineering, data, cloud modernization, systems integration and managed technology services.
The companies plan to provide end-to-end capabilities spanning digital infrastructure, AI platforms, enterprise applications, implementation and ongoing managed services.
Gulf Edge is the digital infrastructure division of Gulf Development, a Thai energy and infrastructure company. It is building an ecosystem that includes data centers, cloud services, satellite technology and AI infrastructure.
The partnership will initially focus on banking and financial services, energy, utilities, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing and the public sector.
The companies intend to develop industry-specific AI systems that automate business processes, improve decision-making, increase operational efficiency and create more personalized customer experiences.
A central element of the partnership will be sovereign digital infrastructure, which enables organizations to store and process sensitive information under local laws, security requirements and governance standards.
Cognizant and Gulf Edge said they plan to help Thai organizations deploy AI securely and responsibly while integrating it into existing operations rather than limiting adoption to isolated experiments.
The companies will also work with universities, research organizations, technology partners and public-sector institutions to develop local AI expertise.
The initiative could generate up to approximately 1,000 skilled jobs involving AI engineering, data science, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital transformation, according to Cognizant.
The companies believe the partnership could attract additional technology investment to Thailand and help establish the country as an AI center for Southeast Asia.
