Cognosos announced the appointment of Heath Thompson as chief executive officer as the company moves to expand its AI-powered location intelligence platform across multiple industries.
The Atlanta-based company provides location intelligence and operational process optimization technology designed to help enterprises manage complex physical operations. Its platform combines sensors, cloud software, and advanced analytics to deliver real-time visibility into workflows, safety processes, and asset movement across sectors such as automotive logistics, healthcare, and industrial operations.
Thompson joins Cognosos during a period of strategic growth as the company transitions from providing real-time location solutions to operating a broader, scalable location intelligence platform. The company said the shift is intended to support enterprise customers that require precise operational visibility and optimized execution across large-scale physical environments.
Bringing nearly three decades of experience in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, and enterprise software leadership, Thompson previously held senior executive roles at Quest Software. There, he served as president and general manager, leading global product and go-to-market operations across several enterprise software businesses.
In his new role, Thompson will focus on scaling Cognosos’ location intelligence platform, expanding the company’s partner ecosystem, and translating recent acquisitions into long-term organic growth. The company said it will also prioritize operational excellence to support sustained and profitable expansion.
The leadership change follows a period of transformation for Cognosos, which included the acquisitions of Cox 2M in 2025 and Cox Prosight in 2024. Those transactions expanded the company’s reach in key verticals, including healthcare, automotive logistics, and industrial operations, while strengthening its capabilities in AI-powered location intelligence.
