Cohen & Gresser has announced the appointment of Olga Ponomarenko as a partner in its London office, joined by Irina Bratishkina as an associate, as the US law firm continues to build out its international corporate capabilities.
Ponomarenko joins from Latham & Watkins, where she was a partner, while Bratishkina previously served as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. The firm said the pair brings extensive experience advising on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, co-investments, equity capital markets transactions, and broader strategic corporate matters.
Ponomarenko represents private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, and financial institutions across industries, including technology, energy, financial services, consumer, and infrastructure. Her practice spans Europe, the CIS region, and the Middle East, with a focus on multi-jurisdictional transactions, co-investments, carve-outs, joint ventures, sanctions compliance, and large-scale corporate reorganizations.
Bratishkina advises private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, international corporations and private investors on cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, exits and strategic investments. Her work also includes advising on transaction execution, regulatory considerations and related compliance matters.
The hires come as Cohen & Gresser continues to expand its international corporate practice across its offices in New York, Paris, Washington, D.C., London and Dubai, advising clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, fund formation, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
