Colbeck Capital: $700 Million Closed For Vintage Strategic Lending Fund

By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 25, 2025

Colbeck Capital Management – a leading middle-market private credit firm focused on strategic lending – announced that it has raised $700 million in capital commitments for the third flagship fund, Colbeck Strategic Lending III, exceeding its target by 40%.

This fund received strong support from existing Colbeck clients and new investor relationships globally, such as public and private pensions, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, consultants, registered investment advisors, and family offices. And the fund’s successful final close brings Colbeck’s current invested and committed capital to $3 billion.

CSL III builds on the firm’s 15+ year track record of originating, structuring, and financing senior secured loans to unsponsored, asset-heavy, and cash-flow-generating middle-market companies undergoing transition. Colbeck utilizes its extensive underwriting, investing, and restructuring experience, deep sourcing networks, and private equity-style engagement to seek to create value for both its borrowers and investors at all points of the credit cycle.

The closing of CSL III also follows the continued expansion of Colbeck’s team. In late 2024, Gregory Budetti and Henry Chang joined the firm as Head of Business Development and Senior Vice President on the investment team, respectively.

KEY QUOTE:

“We are grateful for the tremendous support we have received for the Fund from both new and existing investors. We believe it reflects investors’ confidence in our differentiated approach and team, as well as underscores growing institutional appetite for time-tested and specialized private credit strategies. As we start the new year, we see compelling opportunities to create highly structured capital solutions that can provide unsponsored businesses with the flexible financing they require and our investors with the results to which they are accustomed. We look forward to executing on new investments and further scaling our platform and portfolio.”
