Colliers, a global professional services and investment management company focused on real estate, announced it has acquired Progedil, a Rome-based residential asset advisor, strengthening its presence in Italy’s residential development and urban regeneration market.
The acquisition enhances Colliers’ capabilities in advising on large-scale urban regeneration and new-build residential development projects in Rome, one of Italy’s most active housing markets. Progedil will continue to operate with its existing leadership team, which retained significant equity in the business and will oversee day-to-day operations.
Founded more than 35 years ago, Progedil provides project marketing services for residential developments and private housing units, along with brokerage, technical project management, and property management services for institutional developers and private clients. Over its history, the firm has commercialized more than 27,000 residential units with a total value of approximately €6.5 billion and has consistently ranked among the top residential real estate agencies in Rome by revenue.
The company’s team of 75 professionals will remain based in Rome and the Lazio region. CEO Marco Barile will continue leading the organization alongside Managing Director Francesco Procopio, while founder Giuseppe Barile will transition into an advisory role following the transaction.
The acquisition builds on a three-year collaboration between Colliers Italy and Progedil, during which the firms completed approximately 2,400 joint transactions together with Colliers’ Milan residential team. Colliers plans to integrate Progedil into its broader platform to expand collaboration, share technology and market intelligence, and support clients across Italy’s residential market.
As part of the integration, Niccolò Suardi will lead the Advisory & Transaction team in the region while continuing in his role as Head of Retail for Colliers Italy, working closely with Progedil’s leadership to identify new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
