Collov Labs announced the launch of a new research lab focused on developing visual intelligence systems, alongside a $23 million Series A financing to accelerate adoption of AI-powered visual interfaces and applications. The round was backed by Brightway Future Capital, Taihill Venture, MindWorks Capital, and Matrix Partners. The funding will be used to expand the company’s research team and accelerate development of its visual AI systems and applications.

Collov Labs is focused on building AI systems that can interpret images and camera input to enable real-world actions through agentic workflows. The company believes the next major shift in AI adoption will come from visual interfaces, allowing users to interact with AI through images rather than text-based prompts.

The company’s technology combines diffusion models, spatial reasoning, and multi-step agentic systems to understand visual scenes and generate actionable outputs. Its existing applications, Collov AI and CozyAI, are already used by more than 1 million users and over 300 companies, serving as both products and data feedback loops to improve model performance.

Collov’s founding team includes researchers and engineers with backgrounds at leading institutions and organizations, including Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, and Yale University. The company’s leadership has contributed to major advancements in multimodal AI and large-scale recommendation systems, including work on graph neural networks used in production environments.

The company’s visual AI model has already demonstrated strong commercial traction, contributing to a significant increase in revenue and becoming one of the first consumer AI applications integrated into on-device systems from Qualcomm.

Collov Labs is positioning its technology as foundational infrastructure for the next generation of AI devices, including wearables and real-time interactive systems. As visual AI capabilities evolve, the company aims to enable more intuitive human-computer interaction and expand AI adoption beyond current chatbot-driven use cases.

KEY QUOTES

“The next interface for AI won’t be text or chat-based. It will be the camera. A picture is worth a thousand words, and this applies to AI too. Our goal is to make it possible for someone to point their camera at something and have AI understand the scene, reason about it, and help them act on it.”
Xiao Zhang, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Collov Labs

“Visual interfaces will do the same for AI, allowing far more people to use it naturally and unlocking AI for billions of people who have never considered using the technology.”
Casey Zhou, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, Collov Labs

“Visual AI will power the next generation of intelligent products and devices. Collov’s work in visual intelligence and agentic systems positions the company to help define how AI interacts with the physical world.”
Echo Cheng, General Partner, Brightway Future Capital
