Colt Data Centre Services announced the appointment of David Burton as Chief Information Officer. Colt DCS is a global provider of AI-ready, hyperscale, and large enterprise data centers.
Burton will lead Colt DCS’ global technology and security teams. He will also shape the company’s technology vision and deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready digital platforms to support continued growth.
The appointment strengthens Colt DCS’ Executive Leadership Team at a time when demand for hyperscale and enterprise data center infrastructure continues to expand. The company said Burton’s combination of strategic insight and hands-on technical expertise will support its next phase of growth.
Burton brings more than 25 years of global technology leadership experience to Colt DCS. He joins from Global Switch Data Centres, where he served as Group Director of Information.
At Global Switch, Burton led the organization’s digital strategy, strengthened its cybersecurity posture, and delivered technology capabilities to support business growth. His background includes large-scale digital transformation programs across cloud computing, virtualization, global IT service management, research and development, and consumer goods.
Colt DCS designs, builds, and operates data centers for global hyperscalers and large enterprises. Its global portfolio includes 15 operational data centers, with another 12 sites under development across 9 cities in the U.K., Europe, and the APAC region.
The company said it provides secure, resilient, and well-connected infrastructure with planned future capacity growth. Colt DCS also has more than 25 years of experience in the data center industry and has set near- and long-term Science Based Targets to reduce emissions in line with the SBTi’s Net Zero Standard.
