Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS), a provider of AI-ready hyperscale and enterprise data centres, announced the appointment of Fumi Takei as Vice President and Head of Japan. In this role, Takei will oversee the company’s strategic growth initiatives in Japan while strengthening Colt DCS’ position in one of its key global markets.
Colt DCS currently operates 134 MW of IT capacity in Japan and has an additional 200 MW under development as the company expands its footprint to support growing digital infrastructure and AI demand.
As Vice President and Head of Japan, Takei will lead coordination across Colt DCS’ global functions and oversee engagement with customers, partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders throughout Japan’s digital infrastructure ecosystem. The company said the role is central to executing its global strategy locally in the Japanese market.
Takei brings more than 18 years of experience spanning real estate investment, infrastructure, and capital markets. Her background includes leadership roles across global investment firms and digital infrastructure platforms, experience Colt DCS believes will support its continued expansion efforts in Japan.
Colt DCS said Japan remains a strategically important market, as the company continues to invest in facilities designed to support AI infrastructure and hyperscale computing requirements.
The company currently operates 15 data centres globally, with 12 additional sites under development across nine cities in the UK, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. Colt DCS focuses on designing, building, and operating data centres for hyperscalers and large enterprises while emphasizing sustainability initiatives and Science Based Targets aligned with net-zero standards.
