Conceal delivers a browser-native Security Service Edge platform that provides Zero Trust access and in-browser security without VPNs, proxies, or data center-routed traffic. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Conceal VP of Sales Engineering Chris Park to learn more.
Chris Park’s Background

When asked about his background and experience in enterprise connectivity and security, Park shared:
I have been on the connectivity and security side of the enterprise since 2005, when I was on the founding team at iboss. I spent over 20 years there and did a little of everything, from running IT and security as a CIO to leading technical implementation, sales engineering, support, and eventually marketing as CMO. So, I know this space from the inside, both the technology and what it is like to live with it. That is why Conceal clicked for me. I know the proxy and gateway space well, and I know the major players like Zscaler, Netskope, Palo Alto, and Island. I’ve spent my career helping enterprises evaluate and deploy these technologies, so I recognized immediately that this was a fundamentally different architecture. They were solving the problem in a completely different place, the browser itself.
What Drew Park To Conceal
When asked what made him want to join Conceal, Park explained:
Most of the industry still runs on the old proxy model. You send traffic to a cloud, decrypt and inspect it centrally, then push it back out of a data center. That model comes with a lot of baggage, including backhaul, latency, PAC files, certificate headaches, and a steady stream of tickets. Conceal does none of that. We secure everything right inside the browser and let people connect straight to their applications. No proxy, no VPN, no backhaul, and no new browser to learn. Once I saw it was genuinely a different approach, not just a repackaging of the old one, I was in.
Favorite Memory
When asked about his favorite memory from working at Conceal, Park reflected:
The best moments happen during a proof of concept, when someone goes from skeptical to sold in real time. I tell people they already have a car that gets them from A to B, so let me put you in the driver’s seat of the electric one and see how it feels. The version I love most is watching those everyday frustrations simply disappear. The executive is stuck behind a captive portal at the airport and cannot access the internet. The help desk is buried in tickets every time SSL decryption breaks an app. When a customer realizes all of that simply goes away, you can see it land.
Core Products And Features
When describing Conceal’s core products and features, Park detailed:
There are three things we solve. First is browser security, where we replace the proxy without ever proxying. You get content filtering, phishing prevention, protection against modern web attacks, plus CASB and DLP, all right in the browser in real time. Second is VPN elimination through Zero Trust access, giving people direct, identity-based access to private apps without extending the network or routing through anyone’s cloud. Third is VDI displacement: An unmanaged device can access private resources without requiring any installation.
How we do it is the real story. We deploy a lightweight agent that automatically installs and pins our browser extension across Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, and Safari, so nobody has to learn a new browser. We do not decrypt in the cloud. We read content right in the browser at the DOM level and score risk on every page. For Zero Trust, the user connects over an encrypted QUIC tunnel straight to a connector inside the customer’s environment, using peer-to-peer networking techniques similar to those used in online gaming. As a result, data flows directly between the user and the application and never touches us. Our relay only coordinates the connection, and we treat it as already compromised.
Challenges Beyond The Browser
When asked about recent technical challenges in the browser security sector, Park acknowledged:
One of the biggest technical questions customers ask me is what happens outside the browser. Proxies hit the same wall years ago. They handled web traffic well, but customers asked about desktop apps and thick clients. Extending the same inspection and control to everything beyond the browser is the genuinely hard part of this category, and it is where much of our work is focused. We already handle connectivity outside the browser, and we are building toward the same depth of security there. It’s an area where the industry is still evolving.
Technology Evolution
When discussing how Conceal’s platform has evolved since launching, Park noted:
We started with browser security because the browser is where people work and where the attacks live. From there, it grew into proxy-less Zero Trust access and VDI displacement, so what used to be three stacks is now one. Lately, the work has been about depth. We added DLP controls right in the browser, so you can block uploads, copy, paste, and drag-and-drop into tools like ChatGPT or personal cloud storage. Areas we’re continuing to invest in include extension management, device posture checks, application discovery, and prompt capture for generative AI. With prompt capture, the key choice is that we can send that data to the customer’s own SIEM instead of holding sensitive data in our cloud.
Major Company Milestones
When asked about Conceal’s most significant milestones, Park cited:
The $26 million Series B we closed in late 2025, led by Two Bear Capital with AllegisCyber Capital and Gula Tech Adventures, was a big one. It validates the browser-native approach and funds the engineering pace we need. But the milestone I care about most is customer adoption. The real signal is what happens after a demo, when a customer asks to test it themselves and then removes a legacy product they have run for a decade. Earning that kind of confidence is what tells me this is working.
Customer Success Stories
When invited to share the benefits customers are seeing from Conceal, Park highlighted:
The clearest win is consolidation. People come to us juggling a proxy, a VPN, and often a VDI setup, each with its own cost and pile of tickets. We collapse that into one platform, and the daily headaches go with it. The other win is detection. Most filtering tools lean on reputation, so they only catch the known-bad sites already in a feed. We look at every page, even a trusted one. If someone compromises a legitimate site and injects something into, say, an FAQ page, a reputation tool flags it as legitimate because the domain is known. We are reading the actual page every time, so we catch what the feed-based tools miss.
$26 Million Series B
When asked about Conceal’s funding, Park revealed:
I will let our CEO handle the revenue picture. On funding, we closed a $26 million Series B led by Two Bear Capital, with AllegisCyber Capital and Gula Tech Adventures continuing as investors. From where I sit, that money is going straight into product velocity and the team, which is right where I want it.
Browser Security Market
When discussing how the browser security market is shifting, Park assessed:
There is a real shift happening in browser security, and you can see it in the buying spree. Palo Alto took Talon, Fortinet took Perception Point, CrowdStrike took Seraphic, Zscaler took SquareX, and Akamai took LayerX. The big platforms built on the old data center model are buying their way into the browser because that is where everything moved. To me, that proves the point. The browser has become the primary workspace for today’s enterprise and, with that, the most targeted attack surface. We are sitting right where connectivity and security come together, doing it natively instead of bolting a browser tool onto a legacy stack.
Conceal’s Differentiators
When asked what differentiates Conceal from its competition, Park affirmed:
On security, we are not a URL filter checking reputation. We read everything on the page at the DOM level, every time, which is how we stop zero-day phishing and man-in-the-browser attacks nobody has seen before. And we do it without proxying, so there is no backhaul, no PAC files, no SSL interception, and no tickets that come with all that. We also live in the browsers people already use, so there is nothing new to force on anyone.
On access, our Zero Trust model never extends the network. When you connect to a private resource, your machine has no route to that network, so an attacker cannot scan it or move laterally as they can on a VPN. The relay never decrypts anything, cannot impersonate users, and cannot see the customer’s network. Full inspection in the browser, plus access that exposes nothing on the network. You do not really get that combination anywhere else.
Future Goals
When discussing Conceal’s future goals, Park concluded:
Near term, the priority is taking everything we do in the browser and extending it to whatever sits outside the browser. That is the hardest and most valuable problem we have. Alongside it, we are building out extension management, device posture checks, discovery, and prompt capture, all while keeping it invisible to the user. The whole idea is to stay out of people’s way. Give them better security, better performance, and lower cost without the daily friction they have put up with for years.
