Conifer Infrastructure Partners announced the closing of its inaugural fund, Conifer Infrastructure Partners I, LP, at its hard cap of $900 million. The fund exceeded its original target of $500 million and was oversubscribed, completing a single institutional closing process less than five months after launch.

The Pittsburgh-based private equity firm focuses on building and operating high-growth infrastructure platforms across the energy and critical materials sectors. The fund attracted commitments from a group of institutional investors, including endowments, foundations, public pension funds, insurance companies, and family offices. Conifer also made a significant general partner commitment to the fund, underscoring the team’s alignment with limited partners.

Conifer is led by CEO and Managing Partner Nick Stork, who previously founded Archaea Energy in 2017 and served as its CEO until the company was acquired by BP in 2022. At the time of the acquisition, Archaea was the world’s largest renewable natural gas producer and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Prior to Archaea, Stork co-founded Noble Environmental, a major waste and environmental services provider in Southwest Pennsylvania.

The fund will support Conifer’s strategy of accelerating infrastructure platform development through scalable design principles, value-oriented capital allocation, and operational execution capabilities.

Probitas Partners served as exclusive placement advisor for the fund, while Latham & Watkins acted as fund counsel.
