Conifex Appoints Spencer Bell As CFO And Corporate Secretary

Conifex Timber has appointed Spencer Bell as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, effective October 1, 2026, promoting an executive who has held several finance leadership positions within the company since joining in 2021.

Bell most recently served as Corporate Finance Manager at Conifex and previously worked as Operations Controller.

During his tenure as Corporate Finance Manager, Bell played a significant role in completing financing arrangements that included a recently announced Large Enterprise Tariff Loan of up to $30 million and $19 million of funding from the Business Development Bank of Canada.

Bell succeeds Trevor Pruden, who is leaving the CFO position after approximately a decade of service to Conifex.

The appointment provides continuity within Conifex’s finance organization by elevating an executive already familiar with the company’s operations, capital structure and forest products business.

Conifex’s operations include timber harvesting, reforestation, forest management, sawmilling logs into lumber and wood chips, value-added lumber finishing and distribution.

The company sells lumber products in the United States, Canada and Japan and also produces bioenergy at its power generation facility in Mackenzie, British Columbia.

KEY QUOTES:

“I am delighted to welcome Spencer Bell as CFO given his excellent track record, deep financial expertise, and strong focus on forest sector operating considerations. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to former CFO Trevor Pruden for his extraordinary decade of service to Conifex and for building the strong finance team we have in place today.”
