Connection Capital, a London-based private markets investment firm, has appointed Sam Kemp as Chief Executive Officer and Partner, a newly created role designed to support the firm’s continued expansion as demand for private market investments grows.
In this position, Kemp will oversee the day-to-day management of the business and collaborate with the leadership team to drive the company’s next phase of growth. His appointment reflects Connection Capital’s focus on strengthening its leadership capabilities while expanding its platform and broadening access to private market opportunities for professional investors.
Kemp brings significant experience across banking, venture building, and asset management. He began his career at Rothschild & Co before joining Barclays, where he focused on funding high-growth technology businesses. He later moved to venture builder Blenheim Chalcot, where he served as Managing Director, and subsequently became CEO of BCI Capital, an asset manager focused on credit strategies.
During his tenure at BCI Capital from 2017 to 2025, Kemp delivered consistent double-digit net returns for investors, built and managed a high-performing team, and navigated the challenges of the Covid period within a regulated environment. He also expanded and diversified the firm’s investor base, strengthening relationships with high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
Kemp holds a degree from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
The appointment comes as Connection Capital continues to see increasing demand for private market investments, including private debt, private equity, and specialist funds, particularly among private clients seeking broader portfolio diversification.
