Miami-based Consor Engineers announced it has acquired Cavnue, positioning the combined organization to deliver a more integrated approach to planning, engineering, and deployment of “smart road” technologies for transportation agencies and other infrastructure owners.
Cavnue develops an integrated smart roads platform that uses AI-enabled technologies to create a digital twin of the roadway environment and combine inputs from sensors, cameras, and digital infrastructure. The goal is to provide real-time visibility into traffic operations and hazards to improve safety and efficiency for current road users and to support advanced vehicles over time.
Consor said the deal aligns with its broader infrastructure modernization strategy, emphasizing digitally enabled solutions that can be deployed at scale. The firm noted it is backed by New Mountain Capital and that Cavnue was incubated by Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, growing from concept to commercially operating projects across the United States.
Consor provides advisory, planning, engineering design, program, and construction management, and structural assessment services, with core expertise in transportation and water. The firm said it has about 1,800 employees and serves public- and private-sector clients across the United States and Canada.
