Constant Contact Buys GURU Conference And Marketing Education Assets From GURU Media Hub

Constant Contact has acquired select event and education assets from GURU Media Hub, a deal the digital marketing platform says will expand its role in hands-on, results-focused marketing education for small businesses and nonprofits.

The acquisition includes GURU Conference, billed as the world’s largest virtual email marketing event, along with SubjectLine.com, a subject line rating and testing platform, and Certified GURU, a marketing education and certification program. Constant Contact said the assets will be integrated into its broader ecosystem while continuing to serve marketers with data-driven tactics and practical guidance.

As part of the transaction, GURU Media Hub founder Jay Schwedelson will become a Constant Contact brand ambassador. In that role, Schwedelson will continue to lead the creative vision and day-to-day operation of GURU Conference, and collaborate with Constant Contact on content, education and engagement initiatives aimed at improving small business marketing performance across channels.

Constant Contact said bringing the GURU assets in-house strengthens its ability to pair marketing software with actionable education and community, positioning the company to help customers execute campaigns with more confidence and support.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Constant Contact said GURU Media Hub will continue operating independently under Schwedelson’s leadership.
