Constellation Brands Acquires HOPWTR To Expand Moderation Portfolio

By Amit Chowdhry • Mar 27, 2026

Constellation Brands announced it has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining interest in HOPWTR, a fast-growing non-alcoholic sparkling beverage brand made with hops, adaptogens, and nootropics. The deal is expected to close in early April 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

The acquisition builds on Constellation’s initial investment in HOPWTR in 2021 through its venture capital arm. Since then, HOPWTR has grown into a premium, functional beverage positioned as a calorie-free beer alternative, targeting consumers seeking moderation and wellness-oriented options.

Constellation said the transaction aligns with its broader strategy to expand in the non-alcoholic segment, which continues to see strong growth. The company noted that dollar sales in the category increased by 22 percent in 2025, underscoring rising consumer demand for no- and low-alcohol beverages.

HOPWTR will continue to operate as it does today in the near term, including its manufacturing, sales, and distribution. The company’s team, including founder and CEO Jordan Bass, will join Constellation and remain involved in guiding the brand’s future growth.

The deal also strengthens Constellation’s existing moderation-focused portfolio, which includes products such as Corona Non-Alcoholic, Kim Crawford Illuminate, and Modelo Chelada Limón y Sal Non-Alcoholic.

Founded in 2020 by Jordan Bass and Nick Taranto, HOPWTR has built distribution across major retailers, grocers, and specialty stores in the United States. The brand combines functional ingredients with a beer-inspired flavor profile, differentiating it within the non-alcoholic beverage category.
