Constellation Cold Logistics, a European cold storage and logistics provider, has appointed Abhy Maharaj as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026. Maharaj will succeed Carlos Rodriguez, who will transition to Constellation’s Advisory Board and continue supporting the company’s mergers and acquisitions strategy. The leadership transition comes as Constellation expands its European operations, which now span 10 countries and approximately 1.2 million pallet positions of cold storage capacity.
Maharaj joined Constellation in February 2025 as Chief Commercial Officer, taking responsibility for customer engagement, commercial development, and initiatives involving the transformation and integration of the company’s operations.
His appointment follows a period of expansion under Rodriguez, who has led Constellation for the past four years.
During that period, Constellation expanded through acquisitions and the development of additional cold storage capacity in response to customer requirements and changing market conditions.
Rodriguez’s move to the Advisory Board will allow him to remain involved in the company’s strategic development, particularly as Constellation continues to pursue acquisitions and expand its European logistics network.
Maharaj brings extensive experience in cold storage, logistics, food production, business transformation, and operational management.
Before joining Constellation, he held board and executive positions at NewCold, a developer and operator of highly automated cold storage warehouses.
His experience at NewCold included working within a business specializing in automated storage infrastructure and temperature-controlled logistics.
Earlier in his career, Maharaj spent 11 years in senior executive positions at Fonterra Cooperative Group, a global dairy exporter with sales across 130 countries.
His experience across international food supply chains and automated cold storage operations will support Constellation’s continued investment in its European infrastructure.
As CEO, Maharaj will focus on customer relationships, growth opportunities, operational integration, and strengthening the company’s operating platform.
These priorities build on the company’s existing strategy of acquiring and integrating cold storage businesses while developing additional capacity in partnership with customers.
Constellation operates in a market where refrigerated warehousing and temperature-controlled logistics are essential to maintaining food quality and supporting complex international supply chains.
Its infrastructure supports businesses that need reliable storage and transportation services for temperature-sensitive products.
The company’s expansion strategy combines acquisitions with the development of new facilities and additional capacity within its existing network.
