Construction Partners Acquires Ellsworth Construction

Construction Partners, a vertically integrated civil infrastructure and roadway construction company operating across the Sunbelt, has completed the acquisition of Ellsworth Construction, an asphalt manufacturing and construction business headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquired operations will continue under the Ellsworth name as a branded division of CPI’s existing Oklahoma platform company, Overland Corporation, with founder Nathan Ellsworth continuing to lead the business.

Ellsworth operates a hot-mix asphalt plant in Broken Arrow and holds a permitted asphalt plant site in Greater Oklahoma City, providing paving, sitework and utility services for public and private infrastructure projects across the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas. The acquisition gives CPI strategically located manufacturing facilities and experienced crews in the two fastest-growing metropolitan areas in Oklahoma, extending Overland’s footprint beyond its existing north Texas data center and infrastructure portfolio into adjacent markets with strong demand for surface infrastructure construction and maintenance. Ellsworth has established a particular presence in data center construction across both metro areas, complementing Overland’s existing data center project work and positioning CPI to capture growing demand from hyperscale and enterprise data center development in the region.

CPI is a vertically integrated civil infrastructure company operating across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, supported by hot-mix asphalt plants, aggregate facilities and liquid asphalt terminals. Publicly funded projects—including local and state roadways, interstate highways, airport runways and bridges—make up the majority of its business, with private sector work including paving and sitework for office, industrial and residential developments rounding out the portfolio.

KEY QUOTES:

“We are pleased to welcome the entire Ellsworth team to the CPI family of companies. This transaction expands our presence in Oklahoma by providing us with experienced crews and strategically located facilities from which to serve the Tulsa and Oklahoma City markets, the two fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the state. We are especially pleased that Nathan Ellsworth will continue to lead the business in these markets going forward. His deep knowledge of these markets, longstanding customer relationships and reputation for operational excellence will be invaluable as we continue to build upon Overland’s success in Oklahoma. In addition to Ellsworth’s strong public and private construction business, the company is a leader in the growing data center construction market in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, complementing Overland’s robust existing data center project portfolio in north Texas. From our earliest discussions, we recognized a shared commitment to safety, quality, customer service and taking care of our people, and we believe this strong cultural alignment will support a seamless integration and continued success together.”
