Conveo has raised $50 million in Series A funding from DST Global Partners, Balderton Capital, Visionaries, 6 Degrees Capital and Y Combinator, bringing the company’s total funding to $55.8 million.
The company plans to use the financing to accelerate its U.S. expansion and evolve from an AI-powered research tool into what it describes as consumer understanding infrastructure for enterprise organizations.
More than 400 enterprises, including over 50 Fortune 500 companies, use Conveo. Customers include Google, Unilever, AB InBev and Canva.
Conveo was founded in 2024 by Dieter De Mesmaeker and Hendrik Van Hove after graduating from Y Combinator. The company is headquartered in New York, with engineering operations in Belgium and offices in London and San Francisco.
The company’s platform is designed to help marketing, product, innovation and strategy teams maintain a continuously updated view of consumer behavior, preferences and emerging needs.
Conveo initially developed an AI research interviewer capable of conducting in-depth video conversations with large numbers of consumers in a matter of days.
Its newer StoryLines product expands that model by continuously running research around a company’s strategic topics and incorporating the results into a shared consumer intelligence layer.
Conveo said StoryLines has already secured multi-million-dollar enterprise deals.
The platform supports research formats including in-home studies, recurring interviews with more than 1,000 consumers per month across multiple markets, MaxDiff research, price sensitivity studies and diary studies.
Conveo’s AI interviewer can conduct qualitative conversations at scale while the platform structures information from hundreds of hours of interviews into a searchable knowledge base.
Teams can access those insights through dashboards, AI agents grounded in consumer data and integrations with other enterprise software.
The company’s platform also incorporates multimodal analysis across areas including speech, tone, facial expression and on-screen context.
Each additional consumer study contributes to a broader institutional knowledge layer, allowing findings from previous research to remain accessible rather than being isolated within individual projects.
Conveo is positioning this capability as increasingly important as enterprises use artificial intelligence to make and execute decisions faster. The company believes the value of accurate consumer signals increases as AI accelerates product, marketing and strategic decision-making.
The global insights industry is estimated at $153 billion, while spending decisions influenced by consumer research extend across much larger markets, including more than $1 trillion in annual advertising spending and substantial global corporate R&D investment.
Conveo’s team includes repeat founders and professionals with experience at organizations including McKinsey, Ipsos, Palantir, Nike, Unilever and Starbucks.
KEY QUOTES:
“Brands need AI that is deeply knowledgeable about their market and grounded in real-world data. We have built the infrastructure to gather, structure and synthesize consumer data at unprecedented scale, using best-in-class research methodologies, vetted participants and purpose-built data architecture. That infrastructure is already running across more than 50 Fortune 500 companies.”
Dieter De Mesmaeker, CEO and Co-Founder of Conveo
“Conveo is using the state of the art in both AI & consumer insights to help companies understand their customers at a speed and scale that has never been seen before. Dieter, Hendrik and the team have built an exceptional product, and we are excited to continue supporting them as they expand in the U.S. and define this new category.”
James Wise, Partner at Balderton Capital
“Every brand should have a digital consumer twin: a living, continuously updated picture of the people it serves, what they need, how those needs are changing, and why. During my time at Unilever, we always wanted to bring the outside in, so the consumer was present in every major decision not just when a research project was commissioned. Conveo is building the infrastructure to make that possible.”
Kees Kruythoff, Former President of Unilever North America and Global Home Care
“The companies that win from here are the ones who have the greatest understanding of their consumers, and apply that understanding for the key decisions in the business. The pace, responsiveness, and research expertise of the Conveo team, on top of being the leading AI-moderated qual platform, has been invaluable to us in scaling brand advertising internationally.”
Matt Harris, Head of Research at Canva
“With AI-moderated interviews at this scale, you have hundreds of hours of consumers talking about your product, your brand, your competitors. The platform structures all of it automatically, giving teams a constantly updated answer grounded in the original sources before anyone asks the question.”
Niels Schillewaert, Head of Research at Conveo
