Copper has secured an investment from Grammy-winning artist and entrepreneur Diplo. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

The Seattle-based company operates a consumer platform that allows users to earn money through mobile games, online activity and cash back on everyday purchases. Copper said more than 4 million members currently use its platform.

Copper is designed to return a portion of the value generated through consumers’ time, attention and spending. Members can earn through mobile gaming and purchases made online or at physical stores.

The company operates at the intersection of entertainment, commerce and financial technology. Its platform is intended for consumers seeking additional ways to earn beyond their primary sources of income.

Diplo’s investment adds a globally recognized artist and entrepreneur to Copper’s shareholder base. The company believes his involvement reinforces its strategy of combining engaging consumer experiences with practical financial benefits.

Beyond his music career, Diplo has invested in technology businesses focused on consumer platforms and the creator economy. He has also expanded into community and wellness events through Diplo’s Run Club, which combines 5K races with music festivals.

Copper plans to develop a central platform for consumer product discovery and earnings. Its long-term strategy includes using proprietary data covering purchase behavior and engagement patterns across online and offline activity.

This data could help Copper understand how members discover products, interact with digital experiences and make purchasing decisions. The company intends to use those insights to improve rewards and connect consumers with relevant earning opportunities.

Copper has raised $42 million from investors to date. It was also recently ranked as the second-fastest-growing company in the Pacific Northwest on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, based on three-year revenue growth.

KEY QUOTES:

“Most consumer apps are designed to take more from the user, more time, more money, more attention. We’re building the opposite. Copper is designed to give value back, whether that’s through how you spend your time or how you spend your money day to day. Having Diplo support that vision is a strong signal that products can be both engaging and genuinely useful.”

Eddie Behringer, CEO of Copper

“I’m always looking for things that actually make sense for people. Copper’s one of those, you’re already on your phone, you’re already spending money, and this gives something back. That’s real.”
