CopperPoint Insurance Companies announced that Mark Woods has joined the organization as senior vice president and head of product. In this role, Woods will report to John Carey, executive vice president and chief underwriting officer, and will lead the integration of underwriting product and systems while helping guide geographic and product expansion strategies.
Based in Phoenix, CopperPoint said Woods will also advance the company’s investments in analytics and business intelligence as it continues to expand its national footprint and strengthen its insurance product capabilities.
Woods brings more than 18 years of experience in the insurance sector across product development, underwriting, risk management, analytics, and technology-driven solutions. Prior to joining CopperPoint, he spent several years at Travelers, where he held leadership roles spanning product management, platform development, third-party data strategy, catastrophe risk management, and underwriting automation. Most recently, he served as vice president of portfolio solutions.
Woods holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He was also a founding board member of the Colorado FAIR Plan, a program designed to expand access to property insurance coverage for homeowners and businesses that cannot obtain insurance through traditional markets.
