Cordatus Capital Announces Red Dot Acquisition Of East Texas Architectural Sheetmetal

Cordatus Capital and Red Dot Buildings have acquired East Texas Architectural Sheetmetal (ETAS), adding a Mineola, Texas-based manufacturer of metal building components to Red Dot’s pre-engineered metal building platform across the southern U.S.

ETAS produces key structural and envelope components used in metal building systems, including purlins, roof and wall panels, and trim. The business was founded in 2005 by Brian Steck and has expanded through investment in manufacturing capacity, logistics, and workforce development, building what the companies described as a regionally recognized operation with a reputation for customer service.

For Red Dot, the transaction brings critical component manufacturing in-house, a move expected to improve lead times, strengthen quality control, and provide greater cost certainty across projects. The combined platform is positioned to broaden its product suite, pursue new markets, and scale through organic growth and additional strategic expansion.

Red Dot, founded in 1963 and headquartered in Athens, Texas, designs, manufactures, and installs complex metal building systems for end markets including sports and athletics, commercial, government, worship, and education. Cordatus Capital, a Dallas-based private investment firm founded in 2012, said it is actively pursuing add-on investments across several lower-middle-market categories, including metal building manufacturers and component suppliers.

Support: Legal counsel on the transaction included Foley & Lardner LLP for Cordatus and Boyar Miller for ETAS.
