CoreWeave has signed a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar agreement with Hudson River Trading to provide the quantitative trading firm with large-scale AI cloud infrastructure for its next generation of research and model development.

Under the agreement, Hudson River Trading will use CoreWeave’s purpose-built AI cloud platform, including NVIDIA Vera Rubin infrastructure and Spectrum-X Ethernet networking, to support increasingly complex artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads.

HRT has long applied machine learning, large-scale neural networks and high-performance computing to quantitative research and trading.

As those models grow more sophisticated, the company needs greater computing capacity to train models against expanding datasets and iterate more rapidly.

CoreWeave will provide HRT with clusters of NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems alongside NVIDIA HGX B200 GPU systems.

The infrastructure is designed to provide the density and throughput required for large-scale AI model training and allow HRT’s research teams to develop and iterate on complex models at speeds aligned with rapidly moving financial markets.

The agreement also includes high-throughput Direct Connect networking built around NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet.

That infrastructure will provide dedicated, high-bandwidth connectivity between HRT’s on-premises computing environment and CoreWeave’s cloud platform, with the goal of minimizing latency and providing predictable data movement.

CoreWeave will additionally provide direct access to technical experts and a broad collection of AI tools and frameworks intended to give Hudson River Trading researchers greater flexibility to experiment with new approaches.

The partnership reflects the growing role of AI infrastructure within quantitative trading, where model complexity, data volume and training speed can materially affect research capabilities.

HRT said its underlying computing platform increasingly determines what its research teams can accomplish as AI becomes more central to quantitative investment strategies.

The company is seeking infrastructure capable of delivering consistent performance, low-latency data movement and operational reliability as its AI workloads scale.

For CoreWeave, the agreement expands its presence in financial services and adds another sophisticated enterprise customer running performance-sensitive AI workloads at production scale.

CoreWeave has positioned its platform around large AI training and inference workloads and cited its recent infrastructure benchmark results as evidence of its performance.

The company said it has achieved record MLPerf benchmark results, earned the top Platinum ranking in both SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 1.0 and 2.0, and ranked first for inference speed and price-performance for Moonshot AI’s Kimi K2.6 in testing by Artificial Analysis.

CoreWeave was founded in 2017 and completed its Nasdaq public listing in March 2025.

Hudson River Trading is a multi-asset quantitative trading firm providing liquidity across global markets and directly to clients. The firm operates large-scale computing environments supporting research and development, modeling and risk management.

The multi-billion-dollar agreement gives HRT access to some of NVIDIA’s newest AI infrastructure while establishing CoreWeave as a major cloud partner for the trading firm’s next stage of AI-driven research.

KEY QUOTES:

“As we scale our AI and machine learning research, the AI platform we build on matters as much as the models we build. We chose CoreWeave because they understand what it takes to run AI in demanding production environments, and because we’re confident they’ll scale alongside us as our ambitions do. Giving our researchers access to the latest AI technology is exactly what lets a research team like ours push further, faster.”

Kevin Lee, Head Of Research & Development At Hudson River Trading

“Financial services is one of the most demanding proving grounds for AI. HRT is one of the companies setting the standard for what it means to bring AI into production in a performance-critical environment. CoreWeave is built to be the cloud that serious AI workloads run on, and this partnership reflects the trust that the world’s most sophisticated organizations are placing in us.”
