Corner, a multi-billion dollar investment firm that backs, builds, and operates companies across the AI economy, announced the appointment of Michael Sonnenshein as Partner & Group President. Effective immediately, Sonnenshein joins the firm’s leadership team as Corner continues to unify its hard asset investing, company creation, and venture capital activities under a single global brand.
Sonnenshein brings more than a decade of experience leading and scaling businesses in emerging markets. Previously, he served as CEO of Grayscale Investments, where he helped grow the firm into the world’s largest digital currency asset manager and played a role in advancing Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. market. Most recently, he was President of Securitize and currently serves as a strategic advisor and board member for multiple financial and technology companies.
According to the company, Sonnenshein’s appointment reflects Corner’s continued focus on operational excellence and its ambitions for long-term growth across the AI economy.
Since 2018, Corner has backed more than 75 companies and emerging managers, served on more than 20 boards, and distributed more than $300 million of capital to its limited partners.
Corner invests across what it calls the “AI Prism,” focusing on three areas: the technologies creating intelligence, the energy and infrastructure supporting those technologies, and human-centered experiences that cannot be replicated by AI. The firm maintains offices in New York, Palo Alto, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv.
