Corridor Raises $25 Million Led By Bain Capital Ventures For AI-Native Small Business Benefits Brokerage

Corridor has launched with $25 million in funding led by Bain Capital Ventures to expand an AI-native employee benefits brokerage designed specifically for small businesses. BoxGroup and Definition Capital also participated alongside angel investors that include founders and executives associated with OpenAI, Modal, Ramp, Scale AI, Oscar, Rogo, Decagon, Medallion, Reducto and Tennr.

Corridor combines licensed human benefits advisors with AI agents that automate much of the administrative work involved in shopping for and managing employee health plans.

The company targets businesses with between one and 500 employees.

Corridor said small employers have historically received less attention from traditional brokerages because smaller accounts produce less revenue while requiring many of the same quoting, enrollment and service processes as large corporate clients.

Its AI agents are intended to change those economics.

The technology organizes company and plan data, compares carrier options, creates proposals, supports enrollment and coordinates with insurers.

That allows licensed advisors to spend more time helping businesses evaluate coverage, costs and tradeoffs.

Corridor said customers are already saving an average of 20% on health benefits without reducing coverage quality.

The company currently serves organizations across technology, hospitality, physical therapy, wealth management, dentistry and other industries.

Corridor was founded by Nikhil Aggarwal, Jason Dong, Jackson Wagner and Eric Qian.

Aggarwal previously led growth at ICHRA platform Venteur and built more than 250 brokerage partnerships. Dong co-founded pharmaceutical payments business Mural Health, while Wagner and Qian previously developed AI and data infrastructure products at Scale AI.

The opportunity is substantial: nearly 6 million U.S. businesses have fewer than 50 employees, collectively employing more than 36 million people.

Corridor plans to use AI to give those smaller employers access to a level of benefits analysis and service traditionally associated with much larger organizations.

KEY QUOTES:

“For decades, small businesses have been sold the leftovers of the health insurance market. But health insurance is just as complex and consequential, whether a company has 60 employees or 6,000.”

Nikhil Aggarwal, CEO and Co-Founder of Corridor

“Administrative cost is the part of a premium that buys no care, and insurance distribution is where much of it accumulates because the work is still manual. Corridor’s agents do that work, so every employer gets quoted against the full market and carriers have to compete on price.”
