CORT Business Services, a Berkshire Hathaway company and the nation’s leading provider of furniture rental and transition services, announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Dwellworks Living, the temporary housing division of Dwellworks. Following the close of the transaction, the business will operate as Dwellworks Living by CORT. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The combination pairs Dwellworks Living’s expertise in temporary living solutions with CORT’s resources, scale, and existing leadership in mobility-related services, aiming to deliver greater value to corporate clients, relocating employees, business travelers, and industry partners.
Dwellworks Living’s existing service model, client relationships, supplier partnerships, and technology foundation are expected to remain central to the business following the close. Following completion of the transaction, Dwellworks will exit the temporary living business and shift its focus to core destination services and other relocation support offerings, while maintaining a strategic partnership with Dwellworks Living by CORT. James Conigliaro, current CEO of Dwellworks, will join CORT as Vice President of Dwellworks Living by CORT, while Bob Rosing will return to serve as CEO of Dwellworks.
The combined organization will benefit from CORT’s Global Network, which spans more than 90 countries, and will continue collaborating with the existing network of partners supporting employee mobility, including relocation management companies, corporate housing providers, and destination service organizations. The transaction is expected to close on July 31, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions; until then, CORT and Dwellworks Living will continue operating as separate businesses.
