Corus Orthodontists, a privately held North American orthodontic partnership network, has secured a C$20 million institutional equity investment led by ATB Financial’s private equity arm, with a co-investment from a prominent Canadian family office. The company said the financing is its inaugural institutional investment and represents a milestone in the continued evolution of its doctor partnership model.

Corus said the investment is aligned with its approach to providing progressive equity liquidity to existing shareholders while preserving local clinical leadership at affiliated practices. The company plans to use the added capital support to continue investing across its network, including in its practices, people, and future Doctor Partners, as it expands across Canada and the United States.

Management said Corus has delivered two years of double-digit organic growth across its network and believes there is additional opportunity to scale proven initiatives across existing clinics while adding new locations and growth-minded Doctor Partners. Corus also emphasized that it selected investors it views as aligned with a long-term partnership mindset and a focus on sustainable value creation, noting that the co-investors bring healthcare platform experience, sizable assets under management, and the ability to support the company’s longer-term growth and equity strategy.

ATB PE said its investment thesis is informed by prior minority investments in healthcare platforms and cited the company’s doctor partnership structure, management track record, and multiple potential growth pathways, including acquisitions and continued organic expansion. Corus leadership added that the new investors support the company’s partnership approach, including alignment, simplicity, and trust in dealmaking.

KEY QUOTES

“After two years of double-digit organic growth across our network, we believe there remains a meaningful opportunity to further roll out proven initiatives across our existing clinics as we expand in the U.S. and Canada with additional clinics and growth-minded Doctor-Partners. This investment reinforces our belief that long-term success comes from putting doctors first, supporting great practices and their patients, and growing in a disciplined, sustainable way alongside financial partners who truly understand our unique and differentiated partnership model.”

Dean Prevost, Chief Executive Officer, Corus Orthodontists Inc.

“Our partnership with Corus is informed by experience from past, crystallized minority healthcare platform investments that delivered strong outcomes. We see similar ingredients for success here—an engaged doctor partnership network, a management team with a proven track record in scaling companies, a clear strategy, and the potential for multiple avenues for growth, whether through disciplined acquisitions or continued organic buildout.”

Jan Cerny, Managing Director, ATB Financial Private Equity

“The experience and perspective of these two sophisticated institutional investors make them great additions to the Corus growth story. They understand how to help build strong businesses the right way, through disciplined growth, smart investment, and long-term thinking. Just as importantly, they share our belief in a genuine partnership approach through alignment, simplicity, and trust in dealmaking, which has been central to Corus since day one.”
